How Can Hypnosis Help For Sleep All Night?

Not sleeping well is often symptomatic of another physical or emotional issue, so in therapy we would normally start there, but sometimes it can just be a case of bad habits. The body and brain know how to sleep, but once you've stopped sleeping properly, you get more desperate to do so, and suddenly the mind is getting involved and trying to do everything for everyone, when the process would quite probably happen naturally if it were not for the mind's interference.

If someone comes to see me with sleep issues we'll often start with the bigger picture and work our way in to sleep itself. Hypnosis can be used to resolve emotional issues that are getting in the way, it can be used to help with relaxation and pain, it can be used to reduce emotional responses to physical discomfort and the insomnia itself, to reduce the expectation of sleeplessness. Hypnosis can be used to change subconscious patterns that lead to sleeplessness and insomnia, and then install better mind body patterns that make sleep easier or tap into how they used to do it before the problems started.

Whatever I am working on with a client, if they are having trouble sleeping, I send them a self-hypnosis sleep audio or two to help kickstart better sleep as early as possible – because everything gets better with sleep.

The self-hypnosis sleep audio sometimes just requires a listen or two for bad habits to adjust to better habits. Sometimes my clients listen to it every now and again on the bad nights. Some rely on it for a while to shut down and slip into unconsciousness for a few blissful hours.

So, how can hypnosis help for sleep all night? The trick of the self-hypnosis sleep audio is that it focuses the mind in the moment on the process of falling asleep in an abstract way, so the mind can let go of the things that are keeping it otherwise occupied and stay in that place of rest having received subconscious messages to do so for as long as is safe and comfortable.
