Pain Relief With Hypnosis - A Change From The More Familair.

Pain is a reaction to a signal from your nervous system. With hypnosis, you can change that reaction. I can whisk headaches away in a few seconds using a very simple hypnotic technique that does not require an induction. The technique works on physical sensations such as nausea, lethargy, and all sorts of pain from arthritis to general aches and pains, injuries to cramps. If it doesn't get rid of pain completely it reduces it and it can be taught in hypnosis to give you more control.

Someone told me today that she had had a head ache for three days. She told me pain killers didn't work and she was wearing sunglasses indoors. I asked her if she would like me to get rid of it for her and she politely declined. I'm used to people being a little unsure of my skills so I reassured her by telling that her mind is capable of things that pain killers are not.

I am increasingly fascinated by this resistance to change that we all encounter at various points in our life experience. Because after three days of the headache not going anywhere, even with painkillers, she looked at me and said “thanks for the offer, but I would rather ask God to heal me”. Snubbed!

I am always curious too why putting artificially created drugs into the body is more acceptable to some people than the 'hocus pocus' of someone guiding your own mind into dealing with the problem. The answer is of course that we have been trained by society that drugs are acceptable and the mention of doing something a little different brings a mild anxiety on that keeps us in the safe zone of the familiar, even though Hypnosis is cleaner and healthier, faster and infinitely more interesting!
