You learn these things for a reason – fear and anxiety do not make you feel good but they are learned in order to protect yourself. The problem is your subconscious can be a little over enthusiastic in this lesson and the fear and anxiety can end up holding you back rather than just protecting you.

You never learn quicker than you did when you were a baby, learning to understand an alien world and how to use this complex body, co-ordinating muscles in order to balance and walk and take hold of what you need. A young child does not know failure because they are confident, they have not learned fear, not learned doubt, they just pick themselves up and try again.

You still have that default of confidence but it is buried underneath layers of learned doubt, fear and anxiety.
